On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a welfare check of a child at 2078 Rooks Circle. When officers arrived at the residence, they observed strong odors coming from the home which they recognized to be from a possible meth lab.
While officers were at the residence, a vehicle slowly approached and then sped off. The vehicle, driven by Oral Dusty Joinier, 26 year old white male and the owner of the home, was then stopped by officers. Joiner and the passenger in the vehicle, Danielle Leigh Pyfrom, 27 year old white female and also a resident of the home, were then questioned by officers as to the whereabouts of the child that was reported to live at the residence.
A search warrant was executed on the Rooks Circle residence which revealed items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines. Officers also found individually wrapped bags of a substance which tested positive for methamphetamines.
Joinier was charged with manufacturing methamphetamines, possession of methamphetamines and possession of narcotic equipment. Pyfrom was charged with sell of methamphetamines, possession of methamphetamines and possession of narcotic equipment. Both were transported to the Washington County Jail.
“We cannot express the danger meth labs pose not only to those involved in illegal drug activity, but more importantly to the children of our community who rely on us to protect them.” states Sheriff Haddock. “We have seen the devastating effects of meth and meth fires and we will continue to do everything in our power to prevent this in Washington County.”
