Lynn Haven Prepares for Potential High Waters

As rain levels rise, flood concerns grow.

Lynn Haven, in particular faces the threat of high waters. That’s why officials spent the day checking ditches, patrolling streets and warning residents.

In past storms, Lynn Haven, as seen standing waters that rise right up to the front door of certain houses. That means particular streets can be impossible to pass through. So as this storm threatens our area, Lynn Haven prepares for the worst of the waters.

“We’re going to make sure that we prevent as much of it as we can, to protect the people’s property. We know if we get four or five inches of rain there’s not too much we can do, other than to ask the people to stay in, stay away from the flooded areas and let us deal with them the best that we can,” said Mayor Walter Kelley.

Tonight, the Lynn Haven Police plan to patrol the city to continue to check for flooding. If you notice an area that’s flooded, the mayor suggests you call the police at
