Former Police Officer Arrested on Molestation Charges

Bay County, Fla:

Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen announced today the arrest of a Callaway man for charges relating to the molestation of a child.

In October of this year, investigators received information from the Parker Police Department concerning the molestation which occurred on several occasions. Throughout the next two months, interviews were conducted with the victim, and witnesses in the case, which verified the original information.

Today, Rockey Walter Kummer, 05-17-57, W/M, 110 Swan Rd., Panama City, FL, was met as he arrived in Panama City, at the airport and taken into custody. Kummer, who is a former Parker Police officer, was transported to the Bay County Jail where he was served with an arrest warrant charging him with Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. He will go to first appearance in front of a Bay County Judge tomorrow.

The investigation into this incident continues, and further charges are possible.
