Walton County Sheriff’s personnel are currently involved in an intensive ground and air search for a suspect believed to be along the Holmes/Walton County line. Authorities are on the lookout for Dwayne Iverson Owens. The 40-year-old white male was last seen wearing a camo jacket, blue jeans, and a black cap. Owens also has long brown hair, and weighs around 220 pounds.
Earlier this afternoon, Owens escaped from law enforcement custody in the Valley View Community which is between Ponce de Leon and the Red Bay Community of Walton County. The K-9 tracking team from Walton Correctional Institution (WCI) has been called in to assist in the search for Mr. Owens.
If anyone sees Mr. Owens, do not try and apprehend him, but call the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center at , or your nearest law enforcement agency.
