Two pedestrians are killed in separate incidents Friday evening.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the first accident happened at 5:10 p.m. in Washington County.
Officers say a truck driven by 46-year-old Eric Harris of Panama City was heading east on State Road 10, when a pedestrian, 89-year-old Charles James of Chipley, walked into the path of the vehicle.
FHP says Harris attempted to avoid hitting James, but was unsuccessful.
James was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington County EMS.
The driver was not injured, and charges are pending.
FHP reports that at 9:30 Friday evening in Calhoun County another pedestrian was struck and killed.
Officers say an SUV driven by 31-year-old Rebecca Clemmons of Blountstown was going south on State Road 69 when 50-year-old Donna Basford, also of Blountstown, stepped into the road.
Basford was struck by the front of the SUV, and was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver sustained serious injuries.
FHP reports that the investigation is ongoing.
