Thousands of dollars in property, from brand names to board games, led to the arrest of 4 suspects. Investigators found it all intact at the homes of James Daniel Weber, Gregory David Lamarche, Amanda Shields and Roger Lee Barlow.
“The property that was found was stored in closets. It was not being used, it had not been sold, it was still just in a closet,” said Sgt. Jeremy Mathis of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office
It’s an estimated $6,000 worth of property, collected across counties from Santa Rosa to Bay. Each suspect confessed to playing a role in the burglaries that took place on land and on sea. Items stolen off of a yacht in Southport led investigators to the source.
“We did get some information from them that was a major part in us solving some of these cases,” said Mathis.
The case is solved, but the intentions for the property are unclear. With a variety of stolen goods, from antique guns to Yahtzee, there’s no distinguishing characteristic.
“You never know what will catch their eye when they are in the commission of these crimes,” said Mathis.
One thing’s for sure, this property is going back home.
“It definitely is what we would consider a happy ending,” said Mathis.
BCSO has contacted several of the property owners who appreciate the investigative work that solved this crime.
The 4 suspects face charges that range from burglary of a conveyance to grand theft.
