At least three people in Jackson County are arrested after first trying to throw away drug evidence during a traffic stop.
The Marianna Police Department reports that officers attempted a traffic stop on a Green Ford Explorer with an out-of-date temporary tag on Lafayette street.
While following the vehicle, officers observed an occupant throw an item out a window on the driver’s side which was later found to be a baggie containing marijuana.
Officers also found marijuana on 20-year-old Calvin Black Bryant and 19-year-old Trenton Tarez Williams who were both arrested for possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The driver, 19-year-old Vincent Maurice Davis was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license.
Officers also found crack cocaine that was packaged for sale.
A back seat passenger, who is not named because of age, admitted to throwing the baggie of marijuana out of the vehicle.
