And those cold temperatures affected some homes more than others this morning. Gulf Power says a power outage beginning at 5:45 a.m. affected about 8,000 people in the Lynn Haven and Sunny Hills areas.
According to Gulf Power, repairs began at about 6:30, but some residents say they were without power for as long as 6 hours. Gulf Power says the outage was caused by a problem with a transmission line, but the specific reason is unknown. Andrea Smith and her husband live in the Lynn Haven area. Smith says their home temperature was in the 50’s this morning: “I was actually wrapped up in 2 blankets, I had long flannel pajamas on which is kind of odd around this time, wrapped up, and I had my little dachshund laying on me, so he kept me kind of warm!”
The company is planning to investigate the cause beginning tomorrow.
Since when is 15th/East avenue, 15th/Sherman Ave, the mall, 231 area and everything in between now part of Lynn Haven? Power outage was far more spread to the south than just Lynn Haven.
