The Humane Society of Bay County gears up for a yard sale in response to a News 13 story.
The sale will be at the Humane Society Thrift Shop at 1048 West 23rd Street.
All the money raised will go back into the Humane Society, Bay County’s only no kill shelter.
Marketing director of the Bay County Human Society Lorrie Black tells News 13 the sale is in response to one of news 13’s Jerry Brown’s Problem Solvers on the conditions of the store.
That they have everything and anything you can imagine, and today with help of volunteers they’re going through organizing and pricing everything for Sunday’s sale.
The yard sale is Sunday from noon till 4 pm. and then next Saturday January 9th from 10am till 6pm.

This is one of the cleanest shelters you will find. No urine or poop smells and the cages are clean. They are overwhelmed right now because of lack of volunteers in getting the donations out and on the floor but they do take good care of their animals and that’s a huge plus. And these animals will not be killed to make room for more as the other shelters do. For those following little Sassy’s story, the grey Tabby that had been in the shelter for over two years, well, she’s now someone’s happy pet, something she would not have lived long enough to become in any other shelter. These people need and deserve all the help they can get even if it’s nothing more than scoopable cat litter or bags of food for the animals. My hat is truly off to these people because they really do care for those creatures that can’t speak for themselves.
