The Florida Highway Patrol charged 37-year-old Frederick M. Walker after the semi truck he was driving ran into a Bay District School bus Monday afternoon.
It happened just after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Downing Street and Back Beach Road. The roadway was blocked for some time.
Of the 29 students on board the bus, two students were taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center with minor injuries.
FHP says Walker is charged with careless driving.
School Superintendent Bill Husfelt and the Safety Director Mike Jones both responded to the scene.

How can you not see something as big as a school bus? They didn’t say what the truck driver was doing at the time so don’t know if he was yakking on a cellphone or was distracted in some other way. Thank God all the kids were okay and that the two that were hurt weren’t serious.
