Ariyon Edmond is Panama City’s first baby, born on the first of the year.
“It means that he’s special, he’s special already,” said Ariyon’s Dad, Tony Edmond.
At Gulf Coast Medical Center, Mom and Dad welcomed him into the world at 10:47 this morning. At 7 pounds and 15 ounces, he’s a bundle of joy.
“He’s never going to be able to forget it. That’s for sure. We’re going to tell him every year, hey you were the first one,” said Ariyon’s Mom, Reanne Caruth.
The first one and the first born for the young couple.
“I think I’m more excited about him than New Year,” said Caruth.
“It’s amazing, it’s real crazy. No other words really,” said Edmond.
A new life is quite a way to ring in the New Year, but this family wasn’t watching for the clock to strike midnight.
“We missed it, because we were so worried about the baby. We missed the new year coming,” said Caruth.
A missed mark, but not a missed a celebration. The family is overjoyed that Ariyon is finally here.
“It definitely is going to be a good year. Started out great, gotta just keep it going now,” said Edmond.
“It started off great so maybe it will just get better, I hope it does,” said Caruth.
That makes this a happy New Year on a happy birthday.
To celebrate the first baby born, Gulf Coast Medical Center gave the family baby gifts.
