Over a dozen children from six different families celebrate Christmas Friday, thanks to the Bay County Jail.
Employees of the facility held their adopted family Christmas party Friday night. For the last 2 years, all the employees from the warden on down have raised money to help Bay County families.
Each child was called up by name by Santa and given a Christmas present. Tammy Zacherl one of the event organizers tells News 13 that they started raising money back in August to help the families.
This year, the adopted a family for Christmas effort raised three thousand dollars.
